A mun dubbed the ‘King of Chavs’ after winning big on the lottery had to return to his old job as a bin man after he spent a whopping £9.7m. Michael Carroll, 39, won his fortune 20 years ago and his life instantly changed, as he developed a taste for drugs, alcohol, and brothels.

He bragged that he had slept with over 4,000 women, would pay for orgies, and once shared that he started each day with “three lines of Charlie and half a bottle of vodka”, as the Daily Star reports. The former millionaire spent his entire winnings, and was eventually left homeless, bankrupt, and divorced after his wife left him.

Carroll was known for his outrageous sex parties where he would instruct naked women to carry cocaine on trays and end the night bedding eight women at a time.

He labelled these sex parties “Roman-style orgies” and admitted he’d spend up to £50,000 on these parties that were filled with escapades surrounding cocaine and orgies.

Carroll would also spend up to £2,000 a day on cocaine and said he “started sniffing the world away”.

He was arrested a few times, and would turn up to court in exotic cars

He said his nickname of “Master Micky” came from when he bedded eight women in one night.

“In every room in my house people would be f*** ing. Women would just come up to me and offer me sex,” he said.

“The girls would have all their gear off and they’d be serving cocaine on silver plates.”

Carroll has spoken openly about how the lottery affected his health, labelling himself as a “full-blown alcoholic” and admitted he would regularly ingest cocaine and drink vodka in the morning.

Despite losing his fortune and being forced to return to manual labour, Carroll insists he wouldn’t do anything different, saying that winning the lottery: “was the best 10 years of my life for a pound”.

He added: “I don’t look back with any regrets, that’s for sure, I wouldn’t want to turn the clock back.”

As well as his indulgence in drugs, alcohol and women, Carroll made sizable investments during the height of his wealth that no doubt contributed to the loss of that said wealth.

He’d spent £325,000 on a mansion that he said “lay derelict for about 10 years”, he invested £1m into Rangers, his favourite football club, who entered administration in 2012 due to sizeable debts owed to HM Revenue and Customs and buying £150,000 worth of gold.

Declaring bankruptcy in 2013 led Carroll on a downward spiral as he spent three months in a hotel for the homeless after being unable to find a job.

After stints working at a biscuit factory and a slaughterhouse, the 39-year-old made the move to Scotland in 2019 to become a coal delivery man and has since reunited with his ex-wife.

Despite blowing an incredible sum of money in 10 years, Carroll looks at the positive side of his new life.

“I live a good, free lifestyle now and I’m happier because I’ve got my life back, I’m a skint lottery winner,” he said.

“I reckon I’m lucky to be alive. If I still had the money I’d be 6ft under.”
