Kyle Pitts injury update: Falcons tight end leaves game after hit to knee

The Falcons lost one of their top receiving targets midway through Sunday’s game against the Bears, as Kyle Pitts left the field following a brutal-looking knee injury.

Pitts was able to exit the field of his own volition, but after a brief stint in the medical tent he went to the locker room and was declared questionable to return to the game.

The injury came as he was securing a ball and was hit low over the middle of the field by Bears free safety Eddie Jackson. The hit bent his leg awkwardly backward, leading to the concern about Pitts’ knee.

In an area of optimism, Pitts was able to do some high knees before leaving the field and heading to the tent.

The loss of Pitts would be a brutal blow for a Falcons passing game that has needed all the help it can get this year. He’s second on the team with 25 catches behind rookie Drake London, with 313 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Next up on the Falcons’ depth chart will be Parker Hesse and MyCole Pruitt.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
