The Ravens were already operating without their top players at running back, receiver and offensive tackle entering their Week 13 matchup against the Broncos.
Now, they might be down to their backup quarterback for “days or weeks” as well, after Lamar Jackson suffered a knee injury during the final play of the first quarter.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that Jackson suffered a knee sprain on Sunday, leaving his status in doubt for “days or weeks” as head coach John Harbaugh said on Sunday. Jackson is scheduled to undergo more tests on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.

Jackson was sacked by Broncos pass rusher Jonathon Cooper as the quarter expired. He appeared to hit his knee on the ground during the play and went into the blue medical tent during the break between quarters.

Jackson didn’t return to the field to start the second quarter. He was replaced by backup quarterback Tyler Huntley.
The Ravens announced that Jackson was questionable to return because of a knee injury. He was ruled out before the start of the second half.

Baltimore coach John Harbaugh provided Ravens fans with a positive update on Jackson after the game.
“It’s not a season-ending type of knee,” Harbaugh said. “We’ll get more tests tomorrow to let you know how long it’s gonna be. . . It’s gonna be a number. Day to weeks. We’ll see if he can go back this week. If not, it’ll be sometime after that shortly.”

Jackson has appeared on the injury report in each of the last three weeks due to a myriad of problems. In Week 11, he dealt with an illness; he had a hip issue in Week 12; and in Week 13, he missed a practice early in the week with a quad problem.
The Ravens will hope that Jackson’s injury isn’t that serious as they fight for the AFC North title. However, if he does remain out long-term, Baltimore will be in good hands with him out of action.

Who is the Ravens backup QB?
Tyler Huntley is the Ravens’ backup quarterback. Huntley went undrafted out of Utah in 2020 but signed with Baltimore as a free agent and has been with the Ravens ever since. The 24-year-old has little experience but has flashed when on the field in the past.
Huntley started four games for the Ravens at the end of the 2021 season, as Jackson missed the final four games of the season with an ankle injury. Huntley posted a 1-3 record in that span and completed 64.3 percent of his passes for 1,081 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions. He also ran 294 yards and two touchdowns.
Huntley shined in the 2022 preseason, completing 31 of 36 passes for 263 yards and two touchdowns. His mixture of accuracy and mobility should make him a capable replacement for Jackson should he have to miss time once again due to injury.

Ravens QB depth chart
The Ravens have three quarterbacks on their 53-man roster and practice squad. They are as follows:
Rank | Player |
1 | Lamar Jackson |
2 | Tyler Huntley |
3 | Anthony Brown |
Jackson and Huntley are the only two quarterbacks active for game day. Brown, an undrafted rookie, was not elevated from the practice squad in Week 13.
As such, with Jackson out for the remainder of the contest, Huntley will be Baltimore’s lone available quarterback.
It’s unclear who Baltimore will employ as its emergency quarterback should Huntley get dinged up. In previous years, punter Sam Koch had filled that role, but he retired during the 2022 offseason.
