Roger Federer signed off from competitive tennis during a densely-packed weekend of elite action at the Laver Cup 2022.
The Swiss veteran suffered defeat alongside Rafael Nadal in the doubles on Friday night as Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock won a tense tie-breaker.
Team Europe are defending a flawless record in their four showdowns with Team World so far, the first three of which featured Federer ranked no lower than number three in the world.
The event changes location each year, and this time sporting legend Federer and a European team including the likes of Nadal and Novak Djokovic are heading for London’s O2 Arena, which will feel like home to one of their teammates, two-time Wimbledon champion Andy Murray.
