Liverpool vs. West Ham live score, updates, highlights and lineups from Premier League match

ANFIELD, LIVERPOOL — Liverpool will be desperate to build on a potentially season-changing win over Manchester City when they face West Ham United.

The Reds put a poor start to the campaign behind them as they beat Pep Guardiola’s champions last time out at Anfield.

However, all three points against the Hammers are a must if they are to prove they have shaken off that early inconsistency for good.

However, David Moyes’ side arrive having avoided defeat in their last five outings in all competitions, with four of those ending in wins.

The Sporting News is following the match live from Anfield and providing live updates and highlights below.

Liverpool vs. West Ham predicted lineups

Attacker Diogo Jota will miss the game after being stretchered off with a leg injury during Liverpool’s win over City, while forward Luis Diaz (knee) is not expected to return until after the World Cup and midfielder Arthur Melo has a long-term thigh injury.

Midfielders Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita are on the comeback trail following hamstring injuries, while defenders Ibrahima Konate (muscle), Joel Matip (ankle) and Calvin Ramsay (back) were also absent on Sunday.

Trent Alexander-Arnold could start again after being introduced from the bench because of a muscle injury he suffered against Arsenal a week earlier. Klopp, meanwhile, must wait to find out whether he will be banned from the touchline following his red card in the win over City.

Liverpool predicted lineup (4-3-3): Alisson (GK) — Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Djik, Robertson — Fabinho, Thiago, Elliott – Firmino, Nunez, Salah

West Ham have problems at centre-back: £30 million summer signing Nayef Aguerd has been absent with an ankle injury since pre-season, and Craig Dawson (dead leg) and Kurt Zouma (illness) missed the draw at Southampton on Sunday. Moyes said he was unsure whether either would be available.

Winger Maxwel Cornet has missed four matches with a calf injury.

Liverpool vs. West Ham betting odds

Liverpool have won nine of their past 12 meetings with West Ham, their only loss during that run coming in a 3-1 defeat at the London Stadium last season.

West Ham arrive in search of only their second win in 50 visits to Liverpool and are in good form, winning four games in a row before Declan Rice’s second-half equaliser earned them a 1-1 draw at Southampton on Sunday.

Gamblers looking for a goalscorer might find interest in that Salah record against West Ham. The Egypt talisman has scored in four of his past five home appearances in this fixture.
