The run up to a wedding day can be stressful, with almost everyone witnessing a classic case of a bridezilla. One Reddit user confessed to stealing her cake on the big date in retaliation

Weddings are days of great joy and happiness, not just for the bride and groom, but also the friends and family that gather to celebrate it with them. However, some can allow the stress of the day to bring out their darker side, and for one wife-to-be, her “bridezilla” came out in full force, according to one anonymous Reddit user.
Posting on the r/TrueOffMyChest subreddit, she was the maid of honour and tasked with securing the cake on the big day, but instead she took off with it causing chaos for the scheduled events. The “lavish” wedding, with a blue theme to avoid a “white on white” clash against the snow, was set to happen in mid-January.

It was an epic journey to receive the centre piece, as the “drive to the bakery was 45 minute trip each way, and bride suggested I drive slowly to avoid the cake being messed up.
“So, I would have to take a separate route which would end up being around 1 hr 15 minutes on the trip back with the cake. I got up bright and early at 6:00 AM, and began the trip shortly thereafter.”
Soon after arriving at the venue, cake in hand, “the brides mom starts to look uneasy,” before she came up to meet her and went “absolutely berserk”.
Apparently, the cake also had to be a matching blue colour, something the bride allegedly forgot to inform the decorators.
After denying she forgot, the maid of honour was sent back with the cake to make the alterations.
Another 45 minute drive later, “I facetimed with my friend the whole time so she could see how everything was going. She seemed very pleased over the phone and said it was perfect.

“I payed for the touch up on the cake out of pocket and left.”
After getting back to the venue around midday, the situation only got worse as the user was allegedly accused of swapping the cakes out after the video call.
“My friend saw the cake being set up and immediately blew up once again,” the user continued, adding: “She accused me of swapping out the cake she had seen over call for a different, sh****er version.”
After not letting the user to get a word in, she was forced back out to the cake shop again to retrieve the “correct” cake.
It was at this moment she made the decision to drive home instead, taking the cake with her.
She continued: “I took my chances and just drove home. I put my phone on silent and ate the cake with my boyfriend and our families.
“Nobody knows the real story of why I had a wedding cake randomly on a Sunday night for dinner, except for my boyfriend. I do not feel guilty.”
Other Reddit users showed their support for the original poster’s decision, with one writing: “I hope that cake tasted good. You deserved it.”
“I hope there was enough to freeze the top tier to eat on her anniversary. Or for her divorce,” another added.
A third commented: “Lol you tolerated her way past what I would have, you have the patience of a saint. You deserved every bit of that cake for putting up with that banshee.
“Hope she had a wonderful wedding with no wedding cake and one less friend who would put up with her b******t.”
