Marshawn Lynch arrest details: Former NFL running back dragged out of car after police questioning

Video has emerged of former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch’s arrest in Las Vegas on Tuesday, in which he was found in a car that was “undriveable” with multiple flat or missing tires.

In the video, Lynch tells the officers: “I’m not driving. The car’s not on.”

Per a police report, Lynch “would speak and then fall back asleep several times throughout the encounter.”

Lynch also denied drinking or doing drugs, but he nodded when asked if he stole the vehicle.

At one point during the video, a police officer threatens Lynch with an obstruction charge if he doesn’t step out of the car. When Lynch doesn’t do so, he is dragged out of the car and arrested.

Part of the beginning of one video shows Lynch apparently sleeping behind the wheel before the 7:30 a.m. arrest. Lynch asks what the issue is several times.

“Marshawn was not pulled over for a DUI,” Lynch’s attorneys, Richard A. Schonfeld and David Z. Chesnoff said, per USA Today Sports. “Rather the vehicle was safely parked and not in operation. We are confident that when all evidence is presented, this will not be a DUI under Nevada law. Marshawn appreciates and is thankful for everyone’s concern and support.”

Lynch was charged with DUI, failure to surrender, failure to drive in a travel lane, and driving an unregistered vehicle. His court date is Dec. 7.

The 36-year-old played 12 NFL seasons with the Bills, Raiders, and most notably the Seahawks.
