Monday Night Football FanDuel Picks: NFL DFS lineup advice for Week 7 Bears-Patriots single-game tournaments

The Bears will make the trek to Foxboro to play the Patriots to wrap up Week 7 on Monday Night Football. The Patriots are 7.5-point favorites entering this prime-time matchup, and the total is set at 40 points, according to Caesars Sportsbook. Unlike last week’s game on MNF where you had two teams with talented offenses, this week’s contest does not have the same talent pool. The good news for DFS players is you can lean on running backs (David Montgomery, Damien Harris, and Rhamondre Stevenson) and defenses, all of which will be in a lot of FanDuel single-game lineups.

Before we break down our picks, here are the notable scoring settings for FanDuel single-game contests: The point total for the “MVP” is multiplied by 1.5, but he doesn’t cost any additional money like the “Captain” in DraftKings Showdown contests. FanDuel’s default scoring is half-point PPR and four-point passing TDs, and there are no bonuses for 300-yard/100-yard games like on DraftKings.

FanDuel Single Game DFS Picks: Bears vs. Patriots Week 7 Monday Night Football

$60,000 budget, need at least one player from each team

MVP (1.5x points): RB Rhamondre Stevenson, Patriots ($14,000)

Even though Damien Harris is on track to play, we’ll go with Stevenson in our MVP spot. Stevenson has run the ball well over the past two weeks, producing 237 yards and two touchdowns against two suspect run defenses. The young running back has another favorable matchup on Monday night against the Bears, who are allowing 163 rushing yards per game. Chicago’s defense has also given up the seventh-most FanDuel points per game to RBs (23.1) this season. Stevenson, who is averaging 13.32 FanDuel points per game, should have a field day against Chicago as long as he gets at least 12 touches.

MORE MNF: DraftKings Lineup

FLEX QB Justin Fields, Bears ($15,000)

The young dual-threat quarterback scored a season-high 19.4 FanDuel points last week, making it the second consecutive week he has scored 15 or more FanDuel points. The passing still wasn’t great, but he added 88 yards on the ground. If you are putting Fields in your lineup, you are not looking for him to air it out against this Patriots’ defense. However, you want him to be a factor on the ground, as New England is giving up 119 rushing yards per game. DFS players will take another 19-point performance from Fields.

FLEX WR Jakobi Meyers, Patriots ($12,000)

When healthy this season, Meyers is the Patriots’ best wide receiver and will lead the team in all receiving categories in any given week. Last week against the Browns, Meyers had four receptions (four targets) for 60 yards, which is a far cry from what we saw from him against the Lions and Steelers. However, the fact that he scored eight FanDuel points is still decent in a run-based offense. The Bears’ defense has allowed only two TDs to wide receivers and the fourth-fewest FanDuel points per game (21.8). It’s not a great matchup, but we know Mac Jones will look Mayers’ way Monday night, and there aren’t many better options.

FLEX WR Darnell Mooney, Bears ($11,000)

Mooney will also make an appearance in our lineup despite not having a great matchup. The young wideout had his second double-digit fantasy outing in the past three weeks in Week 6 against Washington, posting seven receptions (12 targets) for 68 yards. The Patriots’ defense allows the 14th-fewest FanDuel points per game to wideouts (25.7 FanDuel). It’s also allowed four touchdowns to WRs this season. Again, this isn’t the best spot for Mooney, but he has the type of big-play potential that makes him a decent option in a game like this.

FLEX TE Hunter Henry, Patriots ($8,000)

Lastly, we will take a flier on Henry, who has started to show flashes of what we saw him last season in the Patriots’ offense. Henry scored his first touchdown in Week 6 against the Browns and had four receptions (seven targets) for 61 yards. It was the second-straight week that Henry had at least four catches and 50 yards. Henry has a tough matchup against the Bears, who are allowing the seventh-fewest FanDuel points to TEs this season. However, Chicago has given up 12 touchdowns in the red zone, which the Patriots will look to exploit.
