Mrs Hinch has garnered a loyal fan base thanks to her brilliant home hacks, and now her followers share their own on a Facebook group for cleaning tips.

One woman took to the community social media group to ask for help after finding mould growing on her walls and windowsills. Sharing photographs of a nasty patch of mould running across her wall and ceiling, as well as on her window frames, the woman wrote: “Please please help me I don’t know what to do to get rid of this mould”.

Many people flocked to the comments section on the post to share their advice, with one woman raving about her homemade treatment for pesky mould. Instead of suggesting products packed with chemicals, this cleaning fanatic’s hack is all-natural.

She wrote: “Clean with hot water and microfiber cloth then spray with vinegar 80% and 20% water leave on for 30minutes or longer before wiping again with another clean microfiber cloth. You can repeat this when needed. Works fantastic and natrual [sic].

The woman also added: “You can add oil of cloves or eucalyptus oil to vinegar water spray”.

White vinegar is revered for its versatility when it comes to cleaning – from removing shower limescale to shining mirrors – but it’s also a brilliant natural ingredient for tackling mould thanks to its acidity. You can pick up a bottle for as little as 95p, making it a cheap hack too.

While clove oil won’t permanently remove mould on its own, its high anti-fungal properties help to keep it at bay, as it works to kill mould and spores when paired with white vinegar.

Another cleaning guru has raved about a similar recipe on TikTok, as she banishes mould with white vinegar, clove oil and tea tree oil.

Chantel Mila, praised the clever hack in a video to her account @mama_mila_, sharing the exact ingredients you need.

All you need is three items – one cup of white vinegar, 20 drops of clove oil, 20 drops of tea tree oil.

According to the Melbourne-based creator, the acidity in the vinegar will help rid the mould spores, while the clove oil also has anti-fungal properties. Lastly, the tea tree oil will prevent the nasty infestation from coming back.

All you need to do is mix the ingredients together and add to a spray bottle, then spritz on the infested area. Leave it for 20 minutes while it works its magic.
