When you open up your food from the supermarket you only ever tend to think about tucking in or planning what you want to make with it all.
But one mum was left in shock after she found that a box of ready-to-roll pastries her elderly father had bought from an Aldi store had a spider stuck to it, which she nearly fed to her young daughter.
The mum, who remained anonymous, claims that she asked her dad to pop to the Aldi supermarket in Canley, West Midlands, to buy her one-year-old some ready-to-roll pastry which he happily did for his granddaughter.

However, when he returned and the mum opened the £1.50 box, she noticed what appears to be a dead spider stuck to the side of the pastry.
Speaking to CoventryLive after the incident took place on December 28, the mum said: “I thought to myself if I happened not to notice and did feed my daughter that., my daughter is only one years old, that is disgusting for a little child. Obviously, a kid is not going to know, so what if I fed it to her and something else happened?”
While the image of the creepy crawler in question is rather blurred, the mum is now urging other parents to remain vigilant at all times of the food you buy and be careful when giving young kids their food.
She claimed: “Aldi is quite a big supermarket because of what is going on with the cost of living crisis so everybody shops there now. If you are selling products with insects in them, people need to know. It is not right and it is not hygienic.
“I am disappointed because it was for my daughter. Other mothers need to be aware and be a bit wary of what they are feeding their children.”
Aldi responded to the frustrated mum and offered a full refund on the £1.50 product. A spokesman said: “Our supplier has robust processes in place to prevent foreign objects from entering its products. We have apologised to the customer that this product did not meet our usual high standards and have provided a full refund.”
