Must Watch: The Most Streamed TV Shows and Movies This Week

Reelgood.com(Opens in a new window) helps people find out whether the TV shows and movies they want to watch are streaming and where to find them. It also pulls data from its millions of monthly users about what they’re watching and uses the info to determine the most watched programming in a given week.

Here are the top shows and movies from the past week, on Netflix and across all the major streaming services. We also break out the top 10 lists of TV shows and movies, below. Use them to compare your tastes or to get an idea of what you should binge next. You may find a new favorite!

1. Black Mirror (Netflix)

Robots are taking jobs, lots of people have only seen their co-workers on a screen, and we can’t even trust an image of the Pope. So of course, the thing we need most is a new season of Black Mirror to discover which fresh horrors we’ll likely have to live through.

2. From (MGM+)

This horror show is in its second season. The premise is that there’s a small town in middle America where people can enter—they just can’t leave. Much like [insert name of your hometown].

3. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (Fubo)

This movie is so good that it won Best Animated Feature at the Oscars and stars not one, not two, but a whole slew of Spider-Men (and women, and pigs). It’s the best Spider-Man film ever (though Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 and the MCU’s No Way Home still swing).

4. Silo (Apple TV+)

In the dystopian universe of Silo (based on the book Wool), humanity lives underground in—you guessed it—a silo, but everyone has been there for so many generations they have no idea why or how they got there. They have been told that the surface of the Earth is uninhabitable. But that’s an assumption a few are willing to test.

It’s hard to know just how popular a Netflix movie really is, since the streamer offers no real statistics. But Extraction, an action thriller starring Chris Hemsworth as a black-market mercenary, did well enough to warrant an Extraction 2. They’ve brought the character back from being “clinically dead nine months ago,” as we learn in the first line of this trailer. Now that he’s back on his feet, he has to rescue his ex-wife’s sister and children from the world’s deadliest prison.

6. The Crowded Room (Apple TV+)

Tom Holland’s bowl cut and Amanda Seyfried calling him Danny had me hoping this was a follow-up to The Shining in which a grown-up Danny Torrance snaps. Instead, Holland’s character is arrested for a shooting incident in 1979’s New York City, the details of which are revealed through a series of police interrogations, in this limited series.

7. Avatar: The Way of Water (Disney+ and Max)

If you didn’t see Avatar: The Way of Water in theaters, James Cameron is not angry, just disappointed(Opens in a new window). But if your schedule didn’t allow for spending three-plus hours in your local cinema, catch this long-awaited sequel on your smaller screen.

8. Based on a True Story (Peacock)

When a bored husband and wife who are obsessed with true crime meet a real serial killer, do they hide or call the cops? No, they blackmail him into launching a podcast about his work. What could go wrong?

9. Flamin’ Hot (Hulu and Disney+)

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon recently brought us the origin story of Air Jordans, and now Eva Longoria tells the tale of how a Frito-Lay janitor reportedly(Opens in a new window) invented the wildly popular Flamin’ Hot Cheetos flavor.

10. Renfield (Peacock)

Dracula’s favorite insane toady (played by The Great’s Nicholas Hoult) wants nothing more than to escape his decades-long servitude to the count—played by the one and only Nicolas Cage, doing a full Bela Lugosi with extra teeth. How much blood will be spilled to make it happen? A lot.
