When your partner gets down on one knee to ask for your hand in marriage you might be filled with excitement or happiness or you might be in a state of shock.
But one woman was left feeling disappointed when she saw that the ring her partner had bought for her was too big for her, and also pretty ‘cheap’.
The woman is not a huge wearer of jewellery but was still excited about getting her wedding ring.
However, when she researched the ring and its contents after receiving it, she found it was ‘cheap’ and she was hugely disappointed with her husband.

Taking to Mumsnet, the woman, who remained anonymous, explained: “I hate to admit it but when I saw the ring my immediate feeling was disappointment, it looked cheap like costume jewellery and not what I expected.
“I’m not a jewellery wearer in general so my expectations about a ring were low.”
The woman went onto explain that when she put the ring on she found it was a bit too big and after two months, her husband is yet to speak to her about getting it resized.
She said: “Out of curiosity today I researched the hallmark on the ring. It says sterling silver cubic zirconia. Basically cheap.
“I know an engagement is not about money but I know he can afford so much more. And he is extravagant in his own spending on himself.”
In response, many have shown support for the woman and said she is entitled to feel disappointed by her wedding ring.
One person wrote: “I agree with you, I think it should matter, to me it would show how much he values you given he has money.”
While another stated: “This to me shows that he feels that he deserves nice things, yet you don’t, which really doesn’t bode well.”
A third penned: “I think expensive diamond rings are wasteful and unnecessary but surely there’s a middle ground between that and £50 pounds cubic zirconia rings.”
