She captioned the post on Mumsnet: ” My new tattoo disappeared within a week! Why?”
While the woman described the tattoo as “only small”, it didn’t withhold how shock of how the mark bizarrely disappeared.
She explained: “It was only a small one and it was on my ring finger. It was a daisy – yellow centre and white petals. No black outline, just those two colours.
“Now of course, I am very aware this wasn’t going to have the longevity of a black ink / deep colour tattoo.
“But I didn’t feel much at all when it was being done, no pain and it didn’t feel like it had actually gone into my skin much,” she added. “And it just sort of sat on the top.
“Anyway, it scabbed a bit and then it just came off – all within seven days and now there is no trace of it whatsoever. Not a thing.
“What do you think? I have a small red and green tattoo on my finger and a tiny black one – they’ve been there a year.
“Should it have lasted longer than a week?! The tattooist said it was always a risk due to the colours which I understand but I expected longer than a few days.”
Voicing their concern on the forum, several users encouraged the woman to head back down to the tattoo parlour and demand a refund for the missing ink.
“Jesus, I had tattoos out of a 10p mix-up that lasted longer. Surely you go back and get a refund, that’s ridiculous.” One user commented.
“I had this happen with a yellow star that was part of a tattoo – the star literally lifted off my skin after a few days,” another wrote.
“I went back and they reside it with a slightly different shade which has lasted ok.
“They did say that occasionally a colour can be rejected.”
When asked if the woman had been out in the sun, she replied: “Nope. Treated it exactly as I did with my other two. And it literally just dropped off.”
