PSG returned to winning ways midweek with a 3-0 victory over Toulouse, with all three members of the famed attack contributing to the victory. Neymar and Kylian Mbappe each got goals while Lionel Messi assisted both in the comprehensive victory.
Now, with Champions League group stage action on the horizon, there’s even more reason to keep the victories ticking over as they hit the road again in Ligue 1, heading west to take on FC Nantes.
Nantes have been pesky all season, battling Marseille to the end in a 2-1 win while drawing Lille the week before. Their roster includes talented players like Ludovic Blas and Moussa Sissoko, individuals who can cause problems for any French side.
The two teams met in the season-opening Trophee des Champions on July 31 with PSG recording a resounding 4-0 win against the Canaries.
PSG begin Champions League play against Juventus on Tuesday making the result of this league match critical to the team’s form heading into that pivotal group stage match at home. Nantes also commence their European adventure in the Europa League at home against Olympiacos on Thursday.

Nantes vs. PSG lineups, team news
Nantes boss Antoine Kombouare has utilized various formations this season, making his side difficult to predict and gameplan for.
In Wednesday’s draw with Strasbourg, he went with a 3-4-1-2 with creative duo Evann Guessand and Ludovic Blas both in the lineup. The previous match, in a win over Toulouse, he deployed a traditional 4-3-3 with Blas on the bench and a pair of natural full-backs.
In fact, the draw against Strasbourg featured a whopping five changes, leaving it unclear who will see the field this weekend. Moses Simon and Quentin Merlin are both out injured, but Moussa Sissoko could make his return from a hamstring problem.
Nantes projected starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Lafont (GK) — Appiah, Pallois, Girotto — Castelletto, Blas, Moutoussamy, Corchia — Guessand — Bamba, Mohamed.
The win over Toulouse provided Christophe Galtier with the chance to rest some key starters. Both Neymar and Lionel Messi were able to sit for the final 20-30 minutes, so they should be fresh for the weekend. Achraf Hakimi was off in midweek, but should be ready to return.
Galtier elected for a traditional four-defender formation, with Presnel Kimpembe making way for new right-back Nordi Mukiele. It’s unclear now which formation Galtier prefers, but the three-at-the-back has been used more consistently, so it’s possible that returns.
PSG projected starting lineup (3-4-3): Donnarumma (GK) — Kimpembe, Marquinhos, Ramos — Nuno, Vitinha, Verratti, Hakimi — Neymar, Mbappe, Messi.

Nantes vs. PSG betting pick & prediction
Odds via Caesars (USA), Sports Interaction (Canada), & SkyBet (UK).
Nantes are a pesky side, but they lack firepower up front, especially with the injury to Moses Simon and the lack of form for Ludovic Blas. The latter ranks sixth in shots in Ligue 1 with 17, but he’s put fewer than a third of them on target.
PSG are almost sure to find the back of the net, but after a clean sheet against Toulouse where the defense played well and Gianluigi Donnarumma cleaned up any messes, there should be more of the same against Nantes.
- Pick: PSG to win to zero (+123 on Caesars)
- Prediction: Nantes 0-2 PSG
