NBC roasted for abruptly cutting away from Ozzy Osborne performance in Bills vs. Rams 2022 NFL season kickoff game

NBC must be the conductor of the crazy train.

The NFL has long played host to some really bizarre halftime and pre-game shows — Ed Sheeran is still stuck in the public’s craw from last year — but they finally seemed to have gotten it right during the Bills vs. Rams season opener.

During the 2022 NFL season kickoff game airing on NBC, the adoring public was treated to one of music’s all-time greats, when Ozzy Osborne took the stage to play the halftime show. Kind of.

There was a bit of a catch: Osborne’s performance was pretty exclusive to the SoFi Stadium crowd. NBC very briefly showed, then cut away, from Osborne’s performance of new single “Patient Number 9.”

Instead, the network opted to keep all eyeballs on Maria Taylor, Tony Dungy and Rodney Harrison for their customary halftime report.

Men have ridden bulls longer than NBC aired Ozzy Osborne’s performance.

Which is more interesting? Well, you be the judge. Needless to say, there were plenty of fans who were upset with the decision to leave the “Prince of Darkness” in favor of the halftime panel:

For the record, at 73 years old, Ozzy is very much still alive, and very much still kicking tons of ass.
