Neighbour seeks revenge over loud party noise by hammering near next door’s bedroom wall

The disgruntled neighbour was so sick of the loud music blaring next door that they decided to hammer loudly early in the mornings – people have praised them for taking action and shared their own nightmare neighbour tales

Moving house is a stressful time thanks to endless paperwork, packing and admin delays, but once you’ve finally got the keys and step foot through the door, it should all be plain-sailing. Unfortunately for some, the difficulties continue, as they are lumped with nightmare neighbours that they can’t escape. Whether it’s nabbing your post or bickering over a parking spot, spats between neighbours can get nasty.

One of the major issues that people struggle with is noisy neighbours, as late night music, screaming children or incessant banging is bound to leave people at their wit’s end. One person sought revenge on their party animal neighbours after they got fed up with the late night music blaring until 4 in the morning – even on weekdays.

Taking to Reddit to share their cunning tactic, the homeowner, who remains anonymous, explained: “The last couple years the house next door to mine was rented to a few 20-something dudes who would party and play loud music until like 4am.

“The houses are pretty close together so it was loud inside my house even with all the windows shut, and it would keep me up most of the night.

“Doing it on the weekends was bad enough but sometimes it would be on a Thursday and I’d have to work the next day on just a couple hours sleep. Needless to say, I was always p***** and petty when this happened”.

The disgruntled neighbour was tired of listening to the loud tunes, so took matters into their own hands with ‘satisfying’ revenge.

They said: “Now my house has a wooden deck in the back and it wraps around the same side of the house that faces these neighbors [sic]. It’s a pretty old deck and the nails work their way up over time, so periodically I have to hammer them back in.

“When the AHs [a*******] next door would party super late, I’d wake around 7 as I usually do (I’m incapable of sleeping in late even after little sleep), and at 7:30 I’d get out my hammer and start hammering my deck nails in.

“About ten feet away from two of their bedroom windows. I had lots of nails that needed to be hammered in”.

The party-loving neighbours didn’t take too kindly to next door’s retaliation, as they explained: “Sometimes one of the guys would scream out in frustration and it was very satisfying. I don’t sleep, you don’t sleep dude”.

The frustrated homeowner’s saga came to an end eventually: “Fortunately they moved away not too long ago. I like to think I had something to do with it”.

Many people flooded to the comments section on the post to share their own similar experiences, with one writing: “This sounds awesome. I did something similar to my neighbor [sic] as well.

“She would stand on her balcony and speak very loudly through the day. I asked her a few times to speak a little less louder. Nothing changed till I started playing music on my loud Bluetooth speakers whenever she got a call. She does not like Metallica or Techno”.

Another joked: “Are you my neighbor [sic]? because there’s someone who hammers here every goddamn weekend morning and my roommate and I are sick of it”.
