Netherlands vs. Qatar World Cup time, live stream, TV channel, lineups, odds for FIFA Qatar 2022 match

Louis van Gaal’s Netherlands will be looking to confirm their last-16 place at the 2022 World Cup with the final Group A clash with Qatar.

Qatar set a new record for a host nation’s early World Cup departure, with Felix Sanchez’s side already losing to Ecuador and Senegal, with just one goal scored.

The Netherlands head into this clash with four points from two games but Van Gaal was frustrated by their poor performance in the 1-1 draw with Ecuador last time out.

Still, a draw would be enough to guarantee a place in the knockouts, with Ecuador and Senegal battling to join them.

Netherlands vs Qatar lineups

Despite being in a strong position to reach the knockout stages, van Gaal cannot afford to rotate his side too much in Al Khor, with Jurrien Timber expected to keep his place in defence ahead of Matthijs de Ligt.

Van Gaal is still monitoring Memphis Depay’s fitness in Qatar but the in-form Cody Gakpo has shaken off a minor knock.

Netherlands projected lineup (3-4-1-2, right to left): 23. Noppert — 2. Timber, 4. Van Dijk, 5. Ake — 22. Dumfries, 20. Koopmeiners, 23. De Jong, 17. Blind — 14. Klaassen — 19. Weghorst, 8. Gakpo

With Qatar only playing for pride in this game, Sanchez is set to shuffle his pack and give some squad players a go from the start alongside key stars Akram Afif and Almoez Ali.

Qatar projected (5-3-2, right to left): 22. Barsham — 14. Mohammad, 2. Miguel, 16. Khouki, 4. Waad, 14. Ahmed — 18. Muneer, 6. Hatem 10. Al Haydos — 19. Ali, 11. Afif

Netherlands vs Qatar odds, prediction

Netherlands will be confident of securing the win they need to ease into the knockout stages, despite the issues against Ecuador, with hosts Qatar set to bow out of the tournament with zero points.

Gakpo has been the key man for Van Gaal in their opening games, with two in two for the PSV forward, and he will be looking to boost his Golden Boot chances in Al Khor.
