For newlywed couples, it’s not unusual to hold a wedding photoshoot somewhere that boasts stunning views, but if you’re planning on taking a photographer somewhere that’s open to the public, you have to be conscious of other people who might want to use the area you’re taking up.
And one man has recently vented his frustrations after he went for a jog in a local park and was attempting to cross a public footbridge over a creek to get back to his car when he was stopped by a couple holding their wedding shoot on the bridge. The man initially waited for them to take a break before carrying on with his jog – but they were furious with him for daring to get in the way of their shoot.

The man explained he waited for 10 minutes with the assumption the couple would stop to let people cross the bridge, but when they showed no signs of halting their photoshoot, he decided to just walk through while they were changing poses.
In a Reddit post, he fumed: “I was visiting a park that is accessed by several footbridges across a wide creek. The bridges are about a mile apart from each other with parking lots at each one. When I got to the bridge where my car was parked, a bride and groom were having a photo shoot with ladies guarding both ends telling people they couldn’t cross. No big deal. I figured they’d spend a few minutes taking pictures and then let people cross the bridge before resuming their pictures.
“Well, I thought wrong. After 10 minutes or so, when they were exchanging props and switching poses, I asked the lady guarding my end of the bridge if I could quickly go across and she said no. I wasn’t going to go two miles out of my way when I was already tired from my jog and my car was parked right there. So the next time there was a break in the action, another 5 or so minutes later, I walked past the lady guarding the bridge, with her screaming at me, which I ignored.
“The bride and groom didn’t say anything, just glared at me. The photographer stood in the middle of the bridge and informed me that they were taking pictures, to which I responded that I’d waited almost 15 minutes and they can’t block the bridge without letting people pass every little while.”
The man claimed the wedding photographer told him he was being “rude” by walking through their shoot, but he pressed on with his decision to cross the bridge.
He added: “She raised her voice to tell me how rude I was being. I said that in the time she had spent arguing with me I could have already crossed the bridge and been out of the frame. She started yelling and I just kind of pushed past her and kept walking. The lady on the opposite end of the bridge also yelled at me, but I didn’t respond.”
Commenters on the post were on the man’s side, as many of them said the newlyweds were in a public space so should have expected people to want to use the bridge.
One person said: “It’s a public bridge. They’re the ones being rude. You politely waited. There’s no way I would have waited 15 minutes with my car right there and being exhausted from a run.”
While another added: “It’s a public park. No one can guard the bridges and prevent people from using them in a public park.”
And a third wrote: “You politely waited for a moment when they were switching things up and not actively taking photos. They should have just thanked you for your patience and let you through without any further issue.”
