Day 2 of the FIFA World Cup has already supplied us one of the higher scoring matches in recent memory with England’s lopsided 6-2 win over Iran.
It was the first of three matches on Tuesday with Senegal-Netherlands and USA-Wales closing out the tripleheader.
The FIFA World Cup officially kicked off on Sunday, November 20 with the one standalone inaugural match, as host nation Qatar fell to Group A foe Ecuador.
After Monday’s matches there will still be 60 matches left to be played on the schedule through the final on Sunday, Dec. 18. During the group stage there will be up to four games in one day — 11 straight hours of football.
The off days are few over the next month: Dec. 7-8 (Wednesday and Thursday) and Dec. 11-12 (Sunday and Monday) and Dec. 15-16 (Thursday and Friday before the third-place match and the final).
The Sporting News will keep you on top of what’s next on the World Cup menu after each match.

Next World Cup match 2022
The next World Cup match is the Group A match between Senegal and the Netherlands, who are considered the favorites to advance ahead of Ecuador and Qatar, who played on Sunday.
After England beat Iran and padded their goal differential, giving them a great start in their bid to qualify to the knockouts, the USA and Wales are direct competitors for the other Round of 16 berth from Group B. They meet in the final match of the day.
