NFL Weather Week 10: Rain, wind in forecast could affect fantasy start ’em, sit ’em decisions

The temperatures are dropping, and the Week 10 NFL weather forecast features several games around the league that will play in the 30s. Fortunately, there are only a few contests that have legitimate wind and rain concerns in their initial forecasts. RotoGrinders’ meteorologist Kevin Roth is here to help us break down the weather updates you need to know before locking in your fantasy start ’em sit ’em decisions.

Before we get into the Week 10 forecasts, here’s a reminder that if you have any questions about sports weather or how weather could impact play (and, potentially, your fantasy, DFS, and gambling decisions), don’t hesitate to reach out to RotoGrinders’ meteorologist Kevin Roth on Twitter (@KevinRothWx) or check out the hourly NFL weather forecasts on RotoGrinders. If a game isn’t mentioned below, it’s because it doesn’t even have 10-mph winds or a 20-percent chance of rain in the forecast.

Falcons @ Panthers. There’s over a 50-percent chance of rain and winds projected to be around 10 mph for this week. The likelihood of showers is even higher in the second half, so expect a lot of running from ground-oriented teams. We’d still start D.J. Moore because of the matchup and Kyle Pitts because of his ceiling at a thin position, but be careful with the QBs, pass-catchers (including Drake London and Terrace Marshall Jr.), and the kickers.

WEEK 10 DFS LINEUPS: DraftKings | FanDuel

Saints @ Steelers: With around a 20-percent chance of rain and 10-mph winds, this game isn’t a major worry unless the forecast worsens.

Vikings @ Bills. Temperatures in the 30s, winds around 15 mph, and a 35-percent chance of rain — yeah, sounds like Buffalo in November. While these conditions don’t figure to help the offenses, none of the must-starts (Justin Jefferson, Stefon Diggs, Josh Allen if active) should be benched. Gabriel Davis and T.J. Hockenson will also remain in most lineups unless the forecast worsens, but it’s tough to get excited about Kirk Cousins, Adam Thielen, Dawson Knox, Isaiah McKenzie, and the kickers.

All of this is subject to change as we get closer to kickoff. You can follow meteorologist Kevin Roth on Twitter (@KevinRothWx) and check out the hourly NFL weather forecasts on RotoGrinders. For the best weather-related fantasy advice, take a look at WeatherEdge.
