Into the Spider-Verse we go.
Panthers pass-rusher Brian Burns has quite the affinity for Spider-Man; he has mimicked iconic poses of the iconic character as sack celebrations throughout his career, and he has made no secret of his love for the comic book superhero.
On Thursday night, though, Burns pulled out a move — well, a couple of moves — for the diehards.

In the fourth quarter, Burns wrapped up Falcons passer Marcus Mariota for his seventh sack of the season, and he showed off an eerily familiar sequence of dance moves to celebrate.
The sack was good.

If Burns’ smooth moves look familiar, it’s because he took a page out of Tobey Maguire’s book from “Spider-Man 3.” In an infamous scene when “emo” Peter Parker is embracing the dark side of the Venom symbiote, he breaks out the overhead clap, roll-on and hip-thrust combo that makes the ladies swoon.

Coincidentally — or not — Burns pulled out the moves on the same night the Panthers were wearing all-black uniforms for the first time in 2022. For the uninitiated, Peter Parker’s red-and-black suit is replaced by the all-black Venom look when he takes a villainous turn.
The Panthers turned in a 25-15 win over the Falcons in a wet and sloppy “Thursday Night Football” matchup, thanks, in part, to your friendly neighborhood pass-rusher.
