MANILA, Philippines—Mikey Williams may not have donned the TNT uniform for a while now but things may change following the former’s appearance in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

On Friday at Philsports Arena, Williams was seen as a spectator during the Tropang Giga’s Governors’ Cup Finals rematch with Ginebra.

Ironic, considering that Williams’ last game in the PBA with a TNT uniform was against Ginebra back in 2023.

Amid all the controversies that had surrounded Williams and the TNT camp since then, the Filipino-American sniper made it clear that he still wants to compete with the Tropang Giga.

But coach Chot Reyes said he hasn’t had a conversation with the two-time Finals MVP even prior to the Tropang Giga’s 91-86 win over the Gin Kings.

“We’ve been in touch with his agents, ang dami niyang agents na nakausap ko, hindi ko na alam kung sino talaga but since then, we’ve had radio silence for perhaps, I don’t know kung one year na, at least six months already,” said Reyes post-game.

The veteran tactician, though, left the door open for one of TNT’s most sought-after prospects in the past two years.

“He knows my number, he knows how to get in touch with me, I always say I’m just a message or a phone call away. But we didn’t allow it to affect us. It wasn’t even in our minds throughout the game.”

Before Williams could go back to the talks of suiting up for TNT, he first will be competing for Strong Group Athletics for the upcoming 2025 Dubai International Basketball Tournament.
