It’s more or less expected nowadays that weddings will include some personal elements that represent the happy couple’s shared passions in life. One pair of newlyweds however have taken this to the next level, putting on the sort of gruelling athletic display most wouldn’t be able to pull off on a regular gym day.

Although many of us would happily use the excuse of a wedding and honeymoon to kick back, relax and enjoy a few celebratory champagnes, the two loved-up Cross-fit enthusiasts apparently didn’t want to take so much as a single day away from their impressive weight training routine.

In a video that was shared by videographer Cheston Uy, who goes by the Instagram handle @chestonuy, the bride and groom could be seen lifting weights on the dancefloor as guests looked on, still in their wedding finery. The display certainly wasn’t to everyone’s taste, with some naysayers blasting it as ‘tacky’ and ‘attention seeking’.

One critical person commented: “Nah, that’s because when I want a workout I go to the gym. I usually keep my wedding for getting married and that sort of thing!”

Another declared that it was ‘Hella cringe but their friends must all be gym rats’, while a third shuddered, ‘Now just sweating at the reception, nasty’.

There were however those who loved the fact that the couple had chosen to incorporate their shared interest into their nuptials in such a unique way, with one person quipping, ‘this marriage will definitely work out’.

Another remarked: “It’s supposed to be their special day so if that is what makes them happy and creates memories that they will cherish for life then who am I to say no?”

A third agreed: “I mean it’s their special day and it’s an activity that is meaningful to both of them. Why not have some fun in one segment?”
