Pet psychic Nikki Vasconez became a full-time animal communicator last year and has recently spoken to a cat about how it told its owner that it was time for it to pass on
Losing a pet is heartbreaking – but knowing they’re no longer in pain makes it easier to come to terms with. Pet psychic Nikki Vasconez claims animals know exactly what day and time they’re going to cross over the Rainbow Bridge.
Nikki, who gave up her career as a lawyer to become a full-time animal communicator, has been using social media to educate owners about their pets’ innermost thoughts. In a recent video, Nikki said on Instagram : “Animals choose the day they pass – the exact time, the exact way.

“I talked to a cat, Smokey, who was still alive but not doing well and his humans wanted me to ask him if he was ready to pass, if he wanted assistance.
“He said ‘I am ready to leave my physical body now but I was not ready last week’. He said ‘there’s something important that I wanted to be a part of that happened last week’.
“The humans later told me that last week was their 15th wedding anniversary and Smokey has been with them for every single anniversary and even their wedding.”
While owners may never know their pet’s final day until it happens, Nikki claims animals are born with this knowledge, giving them time to prepare for it.
Nikki, from Philadelphia, in Pennsylvania, America, told The Mirror : “It’s my belief that everything happens in our life (and our pets’ lives) according to a divinely orchestrated plan. In other words, there are no coincidences, mistakes, or accidents.
“Everything that happens is meant to happen for some specific reason whether we ever figure out that reason or not.
“So, I think animals and humans come into this life with their death date predetermined, according to some higher power or greater source energy.
“I don’t think there’s anything for pet parents to necessarily look out for regarding knowing the date of their animal’s passing but rather need to learn to just trust themselves as they navigate the ageing process because our animals are always talking to us and helping us navigate their care.”
Responding to the video, one woman said: “They really do! My girl had been running around, never showed any signs of sickness then one day, she couldn’t walk.
“I took her to the vet, and they said they’ll run some scans and for me to wait at home (in the middle of Covid). I hugged her, and she rested her head on my shoulder.. She walked to the pen and laid down. I thought I’d see her again.
“I got a call a few hours later saying the scans showed mass tumours throughout her kidneys and I needed to make the decision to do surgery, or let her pass.
“I sat on the staircase and cried. I didn’t know what to do. She was my baby and I was about to start searching for vet loans when the phone rang again.
“The vet said she’d passed. She was laying there, wagging her tail and he turned around, looked back and she’ was gone.
“He said that he sees it a lot, that the pet will often choose to go while their owners aren’t there to save them having to see it. But all I think of is the fact I wasn’t there.”
Another dog owner said: “I have had dogs since I was aged 11. After each has passed I said ‘no more – this pain is too great, I can not bare to survive this heartbreak’.
“Mischa is my 7th dog, I always tell myself ‘she will live forever’ and she, along with every dog I have been blessed to share part of my life with, will live forever in my heart”.
