PSG will look to regain the top spot in the Ligue 1 standings and continue their hot start to the campaign when they welcome Stade Brestois at the Parc des Princes in Paris in Matchweek 7.
Les Parisiens are undefeated so far, winning seven of eight matches in all competitions under new manager Christophe Galtier, including a 2-1 victory over Juventus to kick off their Champions League participation. PSG have scored three or more goals in six of their contests, and Galtier is already getting the best out of his star attacking trio, with Neymar looking rejuvenated and Kylian Mbappe on nine goals in six matches.
The match against Stade Brestois shouldn’t prove a major obstacle for PSG on paper. They beat Brest on both occasions last season, 2-0 at home and 4-2 on the road. With a Champions League road match coming up on Wednesday at Maccabi Haifa, and a clash against title challengers Lyon the following weekend, we may begin to see more of a rotation in the PSG lineup.
After a positive start to the season that featured a draw at Marseille and a win at Angers, Brest have collected just one point in their past three matches, a stretch which also featured a 7-0 debacle at home to Montpellier. Those results have them in the relegation places and they have work to do to match last season’s mid-table finish (11th), their best since returning to the French top-flight in 2019/20.
