PSG will put their undefeated record on the line Saturday when they host ESTAC Troyes at the Parc des Princes in Matchday 13 of the Ligue 1 season.
Unbeaten in all 18 matches since the start of the 2022/23 campaign under new manager Christophe Galtier, the Parisian club is in first place, but only two points ahead of RC Lens.
PSG are currently in the midst of a busy period of the campaign with the World Cup on the horizon, but they haven’t let up so far. They’re coming off a 7-2 dusting of Maccabi Haifa in the Champions League. Unlike recent seasons, Galtier has the club playing with intensity and drive, and Troyes have taken notice based on their coach’s pregame comments.
Although ESTAC Troyes are not one of the big names in Ligue 1, they will be far from pushovers after beating AS Monaco 4-2 on the road earlier this season, as well as holding Stade Rennais to a 1-1 draw despite going down to 10 men.
Following three straight losses to start the 2022/23 campaign, 11th-place Troyes have recovered to drop only two of their next nine matches, scoring in each of their last five. Galtier has already warned his own that they need a strong start to set the tone against a young opponent that’s only growing in confidence.

PSG vs. Troyes lineups
Marco Verratti is back in the lineup after sitting out midweek because of a suspension. Neymar and Sergio Ramos return following their Ligue 1 suspension last weekend.
Although Danilo is still not fully fit from his injury, center-back Presnel Kimpembe (hamstring) makes his return after missing five Ligue 1 matches. He could spot Marquinhos.
Despite an important Champions League group stage finale coming up Wednesday, Galtier is only likely to give a breather to some of his veteran starters if they can put the game away early.
Expect PSG to continue in the 4-3-3 formation they’ve been using in the past few games, with Galtier celebrating how he feels it brings out the best in right-back Achraf Hakimi.
PSG projected starting lineup (4-3-3, right to left): 99-Gigi Donnarumma (GK) — 2-Achraf Hakimi, 4-Sergio Ramos, 3-Presnel Kimpembe, 25-Nuno Mendes — 18-Renato Sanches, 6-Marco Verratti, 17-Vitinha — 30-Lionel Messi, 10-Neymar, 7-Kylian Mbappe
PSG subs (11): 1-Keylor Navas (GK), 16-Sergio Rico (GK), 14-Juan Bernat, 26-Nordi Mukiele, 31-El Chadaille Bitshiabu, 5-Marquinhos, 28-Carlos Soler, 33-Warren Zaire-Emery, 8-Fabian Ruiz, 19-Pablo Sarabia, 44-Hugo Ekitike
Troyes manager Bruno Irles, who once played for PSG, will be without his No. 10 Florian Tardieu (foot), Lucien Agoume (thigh), and Jessy Moulin (shoulder). Ex-Manchester City player Marlos Moreno is not part of the squad, but veteran center-back Adil Rami returns and should slot into the backline.
Two former PSG youth products will likely be in the starting XI as 17-year-old winger Wilson Odobert and 20-year-old right-back Thierno Balde should feature.
ESTAC Troyes projected starting lineup (5-4-1, right to left): 1-Mateusz Lis (GK) — 18-Thierno Balde, 2-Jackson Porozo, 23-Adil Rami, 4-Erik Palmer-Brown, 39-Yasser Larouci — 11-Rony Lopes, 6-Rominigue Kouame, 24-Xavier Chavalerin, 29-Wilson Odobert — 7-Mama Balde

PSG vs Troyes betting odds, pick
The odds for this match are challenging to navigate given the market is heavily leaning in the direction of a lopsided PSG victory. And with Troyes having one of the leakiest defenses in the league — they’ve conceded in every match and at an average clip of two goals per game — another goal fest is entirely possible.
Over 3.5 total goals is not attractive at -145 odds, but one angle that might be playable: highest scoring half. PSG will be motivated to start strong and quickly put the match out of reach with that must-win Champions League clash coming up Wednesday.
Given Troyes have been prone to conceding early goals to some of the better-quality opponents they’ve faced, a first-half blitz is on the cards. Picking the first half as the highest-scoring half is a risky play, but if you believe that PSG will start strong and then coast the rest of the way, it’s a bet that would pay handsomely if it comes in.
- Pick: Highest scoring half (first half)
- Odds: +180 (Caesars)
- Prediction: PSG 4, Troyes 1
