MANILA, Philippines — Rachel Anne Daquis found the right time to unleash her best game for the short-handed Farm Fresh Foxies Tuesday night.

With Farm Fresh’s top scorer Trisha Tubu sidelined with back spasms and another key cog in Jolina Dela Cruz not seeing action, Daquis helped the Foxies end the preliminary round on a high note in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

It was a vintage performance by the veteran Daquis, who poured in a game-high 19 points as Farm Fresh battled back from two sets down to top Capital1, 18-25, 21-25, 26-24, 25-19, 15-12, at Philsports Arena in Pasig.

“Noong first and second [sets] nag-struggle ako pero mas na-motivate kasi kaya nga nandito ako para tulungan sila eh, hindi para mas bumaba kami,” said Daquis, who even played through cramps in the fifth set and hit the game-clinching spike.

Masaya ako nakabalik ako and nakatulong sa team,” she added after tallying 17 kills, two blocks and 13 digs.

“Very positive kasi siya eh, kaya kahit yung ibang tahimik nadadala nya. Tapos kahit na galit siya, naka-smile siya. Ibang-iba yung energy,” said Bocboc, whose squad improved to 5-6. “Lagi siya naka-smile. Pagdating nila dito, may renewed energy yung Farm Fresh.”

Despite her performance, the 37-year-old outside hitter believes she still hasn’t reached her top form yet.

Best game kasi talagang kailangan namin manalo ngayon,” Daquis said.

Coming from ang dami namin naging talo,” she added.
