If you attended the Roblox Developer Conference between 2017 and 2020, your personal information might have been exposed in a recent data breach.
PC Gamer(Opens in a new window) reports that popular gaming platform revealed this week that close to 4,000 names, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, IP addresses, and physical addresses were exposed due to a “third-party security issue.” Hackers also obtained attendees’ T-shirt sizes.
Troy Hunt, creator of @haveibeenpwned,(Opens in a new window) posted messages he received from affected users suggesting that while the leak is getting some press now, the original data breach happened in December 2020 and showed up in 2021 in a few niche cheating communities within Roblox. The data was recently re-published and has gathered more attention this time, with many of those affected now getting harassing phone calls and more.

Roblox did not publicly announce the breach until this week, and has reportedly contacted everyone who was affected, so no news is good news if you think you might be potentially impacted. Users who stand to be the most negatively affected by the breach were given a year of identity protection.
