Manchester United face the prospect of getting their Europa League campaign up and running tonight as Erik ten Hag’s side take on Sheriff Tiraspol.

United kicked off their European season with a controversial 1-0 defeat at home to La Liga side Real Sociedad as Sheriff won 3-0 at Cypriot side Omonia.

Erik ten Hag has revived United’s domestic form in recent weeks but the Dutch boss will be looking for a reaction from his players in Moldova.

Sheriff famously won away at Champions League holders Real Madrid in 2021/22 and they are no strangers to a European upset.
