In an emotionally charged disclosure, Sharon Osbourne has unveiled a distressing chapter of her life, recounting an attempt to escape the pain of discovering husband Ozzy’s four-year affair with celebrity hairdresser Michelle Pugh in 2016.
The renowned television star, aged 71, stumbled upon evidence of Ozzy’s infidelity within his emails, sending shockwaves through their long-standing marriage. The affair, lasting from 2012 to 2016, led to a brief separation between Sharon and Ozzy, who had tied the knot back in 1982.
During a recent episode of Osbourne’s theatre show, “Cut The C**p,” Sharon shared the raw details of the tumultuous period with her friend Jane Moore. She candidly spoke about the emotional toll of Ozzy’s affair, stating, “He always had groupies, and I was used to that. But when he knows the name, address, and workplace of the person, it’s a whole different emotional investment.”
“I took an overdose and locked myself in the bedroom. The maid tried to come in to clean the room and saw me,” Sharon revealed, highlighting the depth of despair she experienced during that dark episode.
The couple, parents to three children – Aimee, 40, Kelly, 39, and Jack, 38, publicly acknowledged their split in 2016 when Sharon confirmed the news on her chat show, “The Talk.” At the time, she asserted, “I’m 63 years of age, and I can’t keep living like this.”
Fast forward three years, and the couple reconciled. Ozzy, in an interview with The Sun newspaper, expressed gratitude, describing Sharon as a “god” for taking him back. “We all make mistakes. I’m lucky she took me back. Sometimes I sit there and go, ‘What the f*** was I thinking?’ I won’t understand why it happened until the day I die,” he admitted.
Sharon Osbourne had previously hinted at knowledge of other instances of Ozzy’s infidelity. In a 2017 interview with the Telegraph, she revealed, “There were six of them: some Russian teenager, then a masseuse in England, our masseuse out here, and then our cook. He had women in different countries. Basically, if you’re a woman giving Ozzy either a back rub or a trolley of food, God help you.”
Michelle Pugh, the celebrity hairdresser at the center of the affair, faced public scrutiny when their liaison came to light. She defended the relationship, stating, “When I say he gave me the greatest love of my life, I mean it.”
Ozzy attributed the affair to his sex addiction, claiming to have sought treatment during that period. Despite the storm, the couple managed to weather the challenges and rebuild their relationship, with Ozzy expressing gratitude for Sharon’s unwavering support.
This revelation provides a glimpse into the tumultuous journey of Sharon Osbourne, shedding light on the strength required to navigate through the complexities of love, betrayal, and reconciliation.
