A shopper was left gobsmacked after a pair of budget jeans turned their legs ‘black’ when they purchased them last minute to wear for work.
After they bought the pair of jeans from popular bargain retailer Poundland, Alex was at a loss for words after they took off the denim at the end of a long day.
To their shock, the jeans had turned both of their legs black as the dye appears to have stained their skin – despite not coming into contact with water.
Taking to popular video-streaming service TikTok, Alex shared a clip of the aftermath, which has exceeded 25,000 views since posting.

The short video revealed how Alex’s legs had changed in colour which they claim to be a transfer of the black dye.
However, they were baffled as they hadn’t been caught up in the rain and was confused to how it had happened.
In the clip, Alex even placed their arm beside their thighs to reveal the noticeable colour difference.
In the post, they wrote: “Bought a pair of Poundland jeans for work because it was last minute.
“No rain or water touched them, and yet it’s dyed my legs black?”

The viral video has rocketed in responses since posting, with one shocked user writing: “Omg I thought that was the jeans not your leg.”
Thankfully, a large number of TikTokers shared a quick fix on how to rid of the dark marks occurring when using the budget jeans in the future.
One person claimed: “Poundland jeans easily stain because of the dye, it’s so frustrating. I remember getting home and having to wash my legs all the time.”
A different user suggested: “Always wash dark jeans before you wear them no matter the price, the dye always stains!
Another person agreed: “That’s why you wash first!”
A fourth stated: “This has happened to me before and I thought I had caught a rare and deadly disease fr.”
A Poundland spokesperson told the Mirror: “We’ve sold thousands of these jeans without any complaints at all. While they do carry a label that says some colour transfer can occur, when washed following the instructions – inside out and without softeners – there’s no problem. Hopefully, it will all wash off!”
