Soccer predictions, best bets today: Betting tips, expert picks for games on Tuesday, November 8

In the final week of club action before the 2022 FIFA World Cup, European leagues are filling up the schedule to fit as many fixtures in as possible before the break hits.

There are no Premier League matches yet, as the EFL Cup gets under way instead, but the Bundesliga, Serie A, and La Liga all have a heavy slate of games.

Most notably, Barcelona are in action on the road at Osasuna, while Napoli and AC Milan both have midweek league games in Italy. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund both take the field, with the Bavarian giants hosting Werder Bremen while BvB visit Wolfsburg.

Premier League sides Everton and Leicester City both take the field in domestic cup action, with most other top flight teams in action tomorrow.

In South America, there’s one Brazilian Serie A match as second-placed Internacional looks to finish strong with a road date at Sao Paulo before ending the campaign against confirmed title-winners Palmeiras on Sunday.

Spezia vs. Udinese prediction, best bet

  • Kickoff time: 12:30 p.m. ET
  • Best Bet: Udinese to win
  • Odds: -120 (BetMGM)
  • Best Bet: Gerard Deulofeu to score or assist
  • Odds: -105 (FanDuel)
  • Prediction (Win/Draw): Udinese to win

Spezia’s defense stinks, and Udinese are due. Those two things will come together today to produce a road victory, and Gerard Deulofeu will be at the heart of the result. Deulofeu began this season on fire, and while the results in front of net have dried up slightly, his production hasn’t. Deulofeu picked up five assists to start the season, but is without one in Udinese’s last five games. It’s not his fault, as the team has racked up 6.33 xG and returned just four goals, two of which Deulofeu has scored himself. — Kyle Bonn

Wolfsburg vs. Borussia Dortmund prediction, best bet

  • Kickoff time: 12:30 p.m. ET
  • Best Bet: Dortmund to win & over 2.5 goals
  • Odds: +180 (BetMGM)
  • Prediction (Win/Draw): Dortmund to win

Every team has their bogey team, and Dortmund is that for Wolfsburg. Dortmund have won the last eight meetings between these two sides, including four on the road. The last time Wolfsburg beat Dortmund? May of 2015, a full 14 matches ago, with just one single draw breaking up 13 losses across that span. Dortmund have scored over 3 goals themselves in seven of those games. Additionally, Wolfsburg are xG fools gold this season. They’ve conceded the fifth-most chances of any team this year with 21.20 xGA, and against the three teams Dortmund has played below Wolfsburg on that list, they put up a total of 6.34 xG and scored 5 goals. The visitors should have loads of chances, and Wolfsburg will likely contribute to the tally as well. — Kyle Bonn

* Sports Interaction offers Dortmund to win at 2.04 and over 2.5 goals at 1.66

Osasuna vs. Barcelona prediction, best bet

  • Kickoff time: 3:30 p.m. ET
  • Best Bet: Barcelona to win to nil
  • Odds: +165 (BetMGM)
  • Prediction (Win/Draw): Barcelona to win

Barcelona had their European struggles, but in La Liga play, they have been utterly sensational on both ends of the ball. Defensively they have been unbeatable, last conceding a domestic league goal in the defeat to Real Madrid on October 16, now on a 360-minute scoreless streak. They’ve been good for it too, conceding a measly 1.52 xG over that four-match run, and no more than 0.5 xG in any one game. Osasuna haven’t been shutout in four straight games, but they’ve overperformed their expected goals and left it all on the field just three days ago at Celta Vigo, committing 20 fouls and picking up five yellow cards. Barcelona should have no troubles keeping the concession streak alive. — Kyle Bonn

Yesterday’s picks

With very few games to pick from, the pair Kyle selected split, but the return was slightly negative.

Picking Nordsjaelland moneyline felt tempting, but sticking with the double chance proved the proper decision, as the two Danish clubs played to a drab draw.

We even saw the La Liga game would produce goals, which it did. What nobody could have seen coming is Rayo Vallecano to shred Real Madrid up and down the pitch, with a 3-2 victory that felt on the flow like it could have been even worse. Those things happen, and it’ll be on Madrid to pick up the pieces after such a destructive performance.

Picks ✔️ or ❌
FC Nordsjaelland double chance
(Bonn, -130)
✔️
Real Madrid to win (at Rayo) & both to score
(Bonn, +220)
