Teams A1 and B2 will be represented by the top team from Group A and second-placed team from Group B in the First Round.

 Australia T20 World Cup opponents and possible match-ups

Australia is guaranteed to meet New Zealand, England and Afghanistan in the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup.

A1 is most likely to be Sri Lanka, who is favourite to win their First Round group, while Zimbabwe or Ireland are tipped to be B2.

If Australia progresses to the semi-finals, they will meet either of the top two teams from Super 12 group 12, with India and South Africa favourites to progress.
