As a teacher, keeping children on their best behaviour at all times can be really difficult – especially when they’ve been off for the summer and haven’t been used to a classroom setting for six weeks. One teacher said that she thought she had the perfect way to prevent children from misbehaving in the classroom, and even said that it would work at home too for parents who are struggling to instill good behaviour in their little ones.
@zelyassin posted a video on TikTok which shows her using a scented lip balm to draw on the back of children’s hand as a reward for their good behaviour. She joked that they would do anything for the smelly dots. The lip balms were in delicious flavours such as Hershey’s and S’mores.

The caption of the video said: “The things they will do for one of these”, followed by a crying with laughter face.
In the comments, the teacher wrote: “To clarify, all the children’s parents are aware I am doing this and are okay with it! If it caused any reactions it wouldn’t be In my room anymore”
Someone asked how it helps with classroom management, and the content creator wrote: “It makes them want to follow procedures/make better choices much more! I give them out randomly, so they’re always trying to be their best to earn it!”
Another suggested putting it further up their arm, writing: “Try and put it on their wrist instead so they aren’t discouraged from washing their hands when they use the bathroom!”
“Genius”, one wrote, and another said “What a great idea.”
“Love this! Wish I had thought about this when I was teaching!”, one praised.
Another said they’d used the hack, commenting: “Working as an educational assistant I would do that with my students. By the time I left, I had over 250 lip smackers! They still remember too!”
