The Best 4th Of July Tech Deals and Sales: Laptops, TVs, Headphones and More

The 4th of July is (just about) here, and that means we not only get a three-day weekend, but also the chance to save tons of cash on all kinds of electronics. Pretty much every retailer is having a sale event this weekend, and we’ve gone through their listings and picked out the top offers in tons of different categories. We’ve got discounts of 70% and more on lab-tested phones, laptops, headphones, and tons more. Here are some of the best 4th of July weekend deals, and we’ll be checking in throughout the holiday to make sure that the latest and greatest stuff gets added.

Unlocked Phone Deals

It’s two generations behind at this point, but thanks to the generous Android OS update policy, the Google Pixel 7 Pro can still hang. This is an incredible deal for a 2022 smartphone with lots of great features, including a generous amount of onboard storage, great cameras and photography features to go with them, and a really nice 6.7-inch OLED display. In our 2022 review, we gave it an “Excellent” rating, praising the phone’s sleek design and hardy construction, with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus screen coverage. It ran well through our benchmarking tests and works quite well for mobile gaming. A $680 price cut brings it down to 38% of it’s retail price.

TV Deals

The Q70C is one of Samsung’s midrange models, but it still delivers intense 4K resolution at a massive size, and with a price cut of 59% you’re not going to find a better deal anywhere. With AI-powered upscaling and motion Xcelerator framerate interpolation, games look spectacular, streaming content is at its best and movies look dynamic. Dual-color LED backlights bring out the best of both warm and cool tones, and quantum HDR picture support automatically adjusts for the clearest picture. Apple iMac Deals

Apple’s iMac line of all-in-one computers made a splash in the late 1990s with kicky color choices, so we’re happy to see that aesthetic come back with the latest models. In our review we gave it an Editors’ Choice award as one of the most reliable and powerful all-in-ones in this price range, with Apple’s bespoke M3 processor getting the most out of the hardware, even offering impressive gaming performance. The display is as excellent as you’d expect, offering P3 wide color and Apple’s True Tone technology, and there are plenty of ports on the back for all your peripherals. This is the deepest discount we’ve seen to date on this one.

Camera Deals

We gave this ultra-rugged action camera an “Excellent” rating in our GoPro Hero13 Black review, raving over the venerable brand’s continual improvements. A 177-degree field of vision lets it capture more of the great outdoors than ever before, and HyperSmooth video stabilization works with every resolution to give you the clearest in-camera view of your footage. It also has a dedicated mode for vertical capture for Instagram reels and TikTok videos. Lots of different video modes are available, including an incredibly cool 400FPS slow-motion setting. Front and rear LCD screens are a nice touch as well, and a $130 price cut makes this a snap to pick up.

Speaker Deals

Taking music on the go is one of the best parts of the summertime, and if you want to play your favorite patriotic jams while you watch fireworks, grab a JBL Clip 4 at Best Buy for half off right now. This pint-sized Bluetooth soundbox doesn’t necessarily compete with larger models when it comes to sound quality, but it’s more than good enough for most situations. In our review, we had good things to say about its fully waterproof construction, handy carabiner and surprisingly robust audio. Battery life is solid as well. It’s worth noting there’s no aux input or on-board microphone, but for forty bucks you’re getting a lot of speaker.

Laptop Deals

We haven’t done a full breakdown of the latest HP Omen Max gaming laptop, but during our CES preview we were extremely impressed by how much action they packed into its chassis. With one of the latest Nvidia 50-series graphics cards, it pumps out gorgeous visuals at steady framerates to the 16-inch WQXGA display with 500 nits of brightness and a 240Hz refresh rate, which is fast enough for even the most intense games. If you’re into content creation, this is also a solid choice thanks to 32GB of RAM, a comfortable per-key RGB backlit keyboard and a responsive touchpad. Chromebook Deals

If you’ve got a student home for the summer, or just want a low-priced portable to check emails and watch Netflix on, you’re not going to snag a better deal than this. Intel’s laptops always feature some of the best build quality in the business and top-flight keyboards, so getting that for under two hundred bucks is a steal. We reviewed the IdeaPad 3 very positively (the only difference being the processor—the 3i uses Intel silicon), noting that it boasted massive battery life, lots of ports and connectivity options. Google’s ChromeOS is one of the most secure out there, and it gets better with every update.

Security Camera Deals

This is the lowest price we’ve ever seen on the Blink Outdoor 4, a compact and reliable all-weather camera that integrates seamlessly with Alexa smart devices. In our review, we gave it an “Excellent” rating, praising the unit’s dependably long battery life, easy wire-free installation and sharp day and night 1080p video. Advanced features like cloud video storage and person detection do require an additional subscription, but with the 61% discount you’re getting here you’ll easily be able to afford it.

Lenovo’s M9 tablet is already their budget-priced model, so throwing in an additional 36% price drop makes it ridiculously cheap. Even though it doesn’t have the horsepower to run high-end creative apps, there’s a lot to love about it, including a pair of decent cameras for videoconferencing, a reasonably bright HD screen that’s a little bit lager than WXGA because of the aspect ratio, and a capacious 5,100mAh battery. The build quality is as solid and functional as you’d expect from Lenovo, and it even comes with a free folio case.

Earbud Deals

We gave an Editors’ Choice to the Space A40 earbuds from Anker in our review, proclaiming them the best budget in-ear headphones with active noise cancellation, and that was at eighty bucks. Slicing an additional $20 off their price makes them absolutely irresistible. With surprisingly rich audio performance, clear stereo separation, juicy bass and crisp highs, they’re great for all kinds of music, and the companion app has robust EQ for further customization. Battery life is also exceptional, with the earbuds running for 10 hours on a single charge and the case holding five charges.

Headphones Deals

They’re not the newest over-ear headphones on the market, but the Beats Solo3 model can still do the job, especially at more than half off courtesy of Woot’s 4th of July sale. In our 2017 review, we said that this model impressed with bass-forward sound that was loud and clear, as well as a detachable cable with inline remote for passive listening that doesn’t drain your battery. The internals incorporate Apple’s M1 chip for seamless pairing with iPhones and other iOS devices, and the fit is comfortable.

Smartwatch Deals

We gave an Editors’ Choice award to the Garmin Venu Sq 2 in our 2023 review, and the GPS-enabled sports smartwatch still holds up a few years later. It’s a comfortable and low-profile wearable that has a big rectangular AMOLED screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, but still maintains an epic battery charge of up to a week. As you’d expect, biometric sensing is a major feature, and the Venu Sq 2 gives you an optical heart rate monitor and a blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) sensor, coupled with GPS, GLONASS and Galileo sensors for pace and distance tracking. Desktop Deals

Shopping for a new desktop? You’re going to have a hard time finding a combination of power and price quite like the HP Pro Mini 400. When compared to the other models on our list of the best Windows mini desktops, it stacks up admirably, with a zippy if slightly outdated Intel Core i5 coupled with a generous 32GB of DDR4 RAM. While you won’t be putting this into service as a gaming machine, it’s great for productivity, schoolwork, watching media and more. Plenty of ports give you lots of room for expansion.
