TikTok this week began inviting users to a new service designed to help foster talent, increase earning potential, and unlock “real-world opportunities.”
Building on previous initiatives like the Creator Fund, the invite-only Creativity Program Beta will open to all eligible US creators (18 years or older who meet minimum follower and video view requirements and have an account in good standing) “in the coming months.”
Participants must(Opens in a new window) publish “high-quality, original content longer than one minute,” though TikTok offered no further details, including specifics on minimum follower and video view requirements. A recent report by The Information(Opens in a new window) suggested folks need at least 100,000 followers—a huge step up from the Creator Fund’s 10,000 baseline.
TikTok in July 2020 launched the Creator Fund, a $200 million (and growing) endowment open to US users 18 and older who meet minimum follower and video requirements. The goal, General Manager Vanessa Pappas said at the time, was to “encourage those who dream of using their voices and creativity to spark inspirational careers.”
Those already enrolled in the Creator Fund can switch to the Creativity Program; everyone else can apply once the feature is widely available. TikTok also updated its digital dashboard, so users can view video eligibility, estimated revenue, and performance metrics and analytics.

“At TikTok, we are committed to fostering new ways for creators to feel valued and rewarded as they continue to inspire and engage our community,” the company said in a blog announcement. “The Creativity Program is currently available in the US, France, and Brazil, with plans to introduce it to more regions soon.”
This joins TikTok’s other monetization solutions, including Live Subscription and Pulse.
