Tom Brady-Morgan Freeman commercial: What to know about Under Armour ‘letter’ ad

Just a pair of GOATs

Tom Brady has rarely been seen in ads during his illustrious career — he hung up his Uggs a long time ago — but with the future Hall of Fame passer (potentially) nearing the end of his playing career, expect to see him more often on your TV.

One such opportunity, which has aired since around the start of the 2022 NFL season, is an Under Armour ad featuring Brady and Hollywood legend Morgan Freeman. The spot features a letter written by Brady to an unnamed, undisclosed athlete — really, written to the masses in an effort to be inspiring — read and narrated by Freeman.

Here’s what to know:

Tom Brady-Morgan Freeman commercial

The Tom Brady-Morgan Freeman commercial was launched in early September, just before the start of the 2022 NFL season.

The Under Armour commercial features a letter, supposedly written by Brady, read and narrated by Freeman. It’s a letter written to the pro athletes of tomorrow — who are dubbed “the next Tom Brady.”

The script for the letter:

This letter is for you. From what I hear, you’re supposed to be the ‘next Tom Brady.’

What I’m about to say is important: Never let them call you ‘the Next Tom Brady.’ When they compare you to the GOATs, tune it out. When they say you’re a sixth-round draft pick, store it away. Compare yourself to nobody but the kid in the mirror.

The one who goes all in, all out, and has the crazy confidence to know that who you are today is just a piece of who you’re going to become. This letter’s for that you, the one no one will see coming.

Sincerely,
Tom

The commercial is a typical motivational message to the masses. Maybe Brady can read it to his 3-4 Buccaneers squad to get them going.
