After dropping their first points of the Ligue 1 season against Monaco over the weekend, PSG look to get back on track with a trip south to visit newly-promoted Toulouse. Champions League play begins next week, and being in top form will be necessary to avoid a slip in the group stage.

A 70th-minute penalty by Neymar provided the only attacking output for PSG, cancelling out Kevin Volland’s first-half opener for Monaco. PSG piled on the pressure, ripping off 18 shots, but could not find the back of the net from open play despite collecting 2.40 xG (expected goals).

PSG will now look to take out their frustration on Toulouse, a newly-promoted club that the Parisians have consistently brushed aside over the years, to the tune of 22 wins in their last 25 meetings across all competitions.

PSG manager Christophe Galtier has a complete first-team squad nearly entirely free of injuries, allowing him to deploy a consistent starting lineup that includes a healthy attacking trio of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, and Lionel Messi.

Toulouse suffered a massive blow to start the year as British striker Rhys Healey, who won the Ligue 2 top goalscorer award last season, tore his ACL just last week. That moves new signing Thijs Dallinga, a 22-year-old Dutch youth international signed this summer from Eredivisie club Excelsior, into a starting striker role. Dutch midfielder Branco van den Boomen will also be expected to contribute goals (12 last season in Ligue 2).
