- You want a selfie with bison’s? Please get a new dream.
When they say stay away from wild animals, they mean it. And don’t selfie with bison’s.
Two women were lucky to have escaped after visiting Yellowstone National Park, post trying to pet and selfie with bison’s. In an incident, a tourist gathered the courage to reach her hand toward the large bovine and was shocked when the animal bucked its head and the girl was almost gored with the bison’s horn.
In a different incident, a woman gets way too close and personal, trying to selfie with bison’s. After the video surfaced, it was made apparent that bison’s are not animals that you want to get close to.
The National Park Service says it’s possible to share land with these enormous creatures, but that you should keep your distance.
The idea is, leave them alone, and they’ll leave you alone.
It’s recommended that park visitors stay at least 25 yards away from bison if they come upon them. If this wasn’t already clear, this means, no selfie with bison’s.
Also, ‘willfully remaining, approaching and photographing wildlife within 100 yards’ at the Wyoming park is straight up illegal. Apparently many Yellowstone visitors miss the memo and often try their luck with bison and other animals they come across in the park.
Not often with good results.
The woman in the video from May 20th managed to escape sans injury but not without a shock when the wild animal lunged in her direction.
The bison appeared over it, staying put after the woman and close tourists screamed and ran away. Poor bison probably deals with us pain in the butt humans all the time.
This isn’t the first time that people have tried to selfie with bison’s, and it won’t be the last.
In a related incident, a woman was caught on camera trying to take a selfie with a different wild animal. An Instagram post by the account Tourons of Yellowstone- dedicated to the ‘moron’ tourists who visit the park stated:
“Sighted at Biscuit Basin. She was trying to pet it. It was insane. Like inches. Her arrogance was so infuriating. People were telling her to move away and she kept posing for like 10 minutes.”
She stopped next to the animal, fixing her hair and was lucky it didn’t mind her being so close to it. And that nothing happened.
Just say no to wanting a selfie with bison’s, or any other animals in the wild. For more shady selfie news, follow the link and read 9 Animals and Objects Harmed For the Sake of Selfies.
