Ty Pennington Hospitalized After Abscess Blocks Airway

Former "Trading Spaces" and "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" star Ty Pennington was hospitalized and intubated after an abscess in his throat blocked his airway

Ty Pennington took to Instagram on Friday to share that he had been hospitalized and intubated after an abscess in his throat blocked his airway. The 58-year-old TV personality said that he had been feeling ill for about a month, but that the abscess had grown so large that it was closing off his airway.

Pennington was rushed to a hospital in Denver, where he underwent surgery to remove the abscess. He was then placed in the ICU, where he remained for several days.

Pennington is now recovering at home and said that he is “doing much better.” He thanked his fans for their support and said that he was “grateful to be alive.”

This is not the first time that Pennington has been hospitalized due to a health issue. In 2017, he was diagnosed with a heart condition and underwent surgery to have a pacemaker implanted.

Pennington is a popular TV personality who has starred in several home renovation shows, including “Trading Spaces” and “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” He is also a successful author and entrepreneur.

We are glad to hear that Ty Pennington is recovering and doing much better. We wish him all the best in his continued recovery.
