MANILA, Philippines—Adamson may have faltered in its most recent outing against the University of Santo Tomas in the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball tournament but the Lady Falcons didn’t go down without a fight.
Adamson gave the Golden Tigresses a run for their money but ultimately fell in four sets, 21-25, 25-20, 13-25, 25-27, at Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday.

The Lady Falcons would have sent the game to a decider if it wasn’t for the squad’s inconsistencies in the end game.
“We should work on our consistencies, from the services to the attacks, everything,” said coach JP Yude in Filipino with Inquirer Sports.

“We have to respond properly during those crucial situations and moments.”
In the game’s final moments when Adamson was primed for a comeback rally, mistakes by Frances Mordi and rookie Shaina Nitura spelled the end for the Lady Falcons, who dropped to 2-2 for the season.
Still, both of Adamson’s key cogs proved their worth before bowing down to UST with Nitura scoring 28 and Mordi finishing with 13.

If there was anything positive to take away from the defeat, it’s Adamson’s floor defense that forced UST to 29 errors.
Unfortunately for Adamson, the Golden Tigresses just had the better defensive game plan on the teraflex.
“Somehow, UST’s floor defense was just better so we have to work on that for our next training,” said Yude.
The Lady Falcons will have a week-long break before plunging back to action against Far Eastern University on Saturday at the same venue.
