Use Tinder? Here Are the Right Words to Get a Right Swipe

Thanks to dating apps, the language of love has evolved in recent years to include “swipe left if you believe in astrology,” “6 feet or taller” and “😈”. 

WordFinder decided to dissect the words that people use(Opens in a new window) when they’re looking for love on apps by looking at 2,000 Tinder bios and talking to over 1,000 dating app users.

If you’re looking for love, you’ll want to sprinkle certain words throughout your bio because they can up your chances of a right swipe.

  • “Love” overall had a 23.2% swipe right rate (21% men, 25.7% women)

  • “Music” had 21.5% (19.4% men, 24.4% women)

  • “Relationship” had 20.3% (17.6% men, 23.3% women)

  • “Travel” had 18% (16.2% men, 20% women)

  • “Adventure” had 14.6% (14% men, 15.3% women)

  • “Gym” had 14% (14.5% men, 13.5% women)

  • “Drink” had 13.6% (15.1% men, 12% women)

  • “Sports” had 13.4% (14.5% men, 12% women)

  • “Netflix” had 13% (13.5% men, 12.5% women)

  • “Car” had 11.9% (11.1% men, 13.1% women)

  • “Vaccination status” had 11.2% (11.5% men, 10.9% women)

If you are going to emoji, then go for the top three that were marked green flags: 😊 (19.8%),😍 (14.2%), and ☕ (11.4%).

The three emoji that are the biggest warning signs are 🍆, 💩, and 😈.
