Valve is set to give away one Steam Deck every single minute of The Game Awards(Opens in a new window) to a random Steam user.
Anyone in the US, Canada, UK, or EU can win a 512GB Steam Deck(Opens in a new window) as long as they qualify and follow a few simple rules. Registration is required, and Valve will check to ensure you have made a purchase on Steam between Nov. 14, 2021 and Nov. 14, 2022 to verify your country. Your account must also be in good standing (not limited by Valve).
The only other prerequisite is that you need to watch the live airing of The Game Awards on Steam(Opens in a new window) in order to be eligible. The live stream begins at 7:30pm ET on Dec. 8 and runs until 10:30pm, so Valve intends to give away 180 Steam Decks during the event. And even if you don’t win one, Valve is offering anyone who registers to take part an exclusive animated Steam Pal digital sticker.

If nothing else, this proves Valve isn’t short of Steam Deck stock anymore. The waitlist for the handheld ended back in October, at which point orders for the docking station opened. Current delivery time estimates on the 256GB and 512GB models is up to 2 weeks, so if you want one for Christmas it’s a case of buy now or wait until Dec. 8 and hope you’re lucky.
