A new edition of the UEFA Champions League is already underway and the chase is on to knock defending champions Real Madrid off their perch after they won the 2021/22 competition by beating Liverpool in the final.
Teams from all across Europe are competing for a chance at hoisting the most prestigious trophy in European club football, and collecting major prize money along the way.
Only 26 elite clubs qualify directly to the group stage of the 2022/23 Champions League with six more joining them after a grueling qualifying campaign that will see a scrap of 52 teams reduced to a lucky six.
Among the teams with aspirations to make the 2023 final are Manchester City and PSG, who are looking for their first Champions League, while clubs like AC Milan and FC Barcelona are hoping to regain some of the luster of their glory years.

Champions League TV channels, live streams
As the Champions League group stage begins, the excitement builds as marquee matchups dot the schedule.
On the group stage opening slate, Real Madrid visits Scottish side Celtic, PSG meet Italian giants Juventus, and Liverpool travel to Napoli. Then, Inter take on Bayern Munich in the first big meeting of the newly minted “Group of Death” that also includes Barcelona.

The exclusive broadcasters for Champions League soccer in the United States are CBS (English) and Univision (Spanish).
CBS streams every match on Paramount+, with select matches televised on CBS or CBS Sports Network. Univision places select matches across its TV networks (Univision, TUDN, UniMas, and Galavision) and also makes all matches from the group stage on available via its ViX streaming platform.

Champions League fixtures 2022/23
The 2022/23 Champions League will continue with the 32-team group stage all the way through early November before the soccer world pauses for the 2022 World Cup.
Once the World Cup is complete and club soccer resumes, the knockout stage begins with the Round of 16 in February, moving all the way through to the final in Turkey in mid-June.
Group stage schedule
The draw for the 2022/23 Champions League group stage will take place on Aug. 25, 2022 in Istanbul, Turkey. All six rounds of matches will wrap up prior to the break for the 2022 World Cup.

Knockout schedule
The draw for the 2022/23 Champions League Round of 16 will take place on Nov. 7, 2022. The draw for the rest of the 2022/23 Champions League knockout stage will take place on March 17, 2023.
The final will be held at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey on June 10, 2023.
