EXCLUSIVE — Robert Garcia has revealed Anthony Joshua’s camp for the 2021 defeat to Oleksandr Usyk was “not good at all” and “one of his worst ever,” as the Brit’s new trainer prepares for the unified heavyweight title revenge mission.
Joshua fell to a UD loss at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last September, having attempted to outbox the tactically-astute Ukrainian, rather than impose his physical advantages on the former undisputed cruiserweight king.
Multiple, incorrect, voices were heard from the 32-year-old’s corner during the demoralising dethroning, while the strategic errors reinforced the need for a change in approach for Joshua. He left Rob McCracken after a decade together, in pursuit of help from the US.
