Video posted by a flabbergasted motorist appears to show a driver asleep at the wheel of a Tesla on a Southern California freeway.
The clip was recorded Thursday, Feb. 2, on Interstate 15 in Riverside County.
The woman who recorded it said they were passing through Temecula when her husband, who was driving, pointed out the sole occupant of the Tesla in the next lane: a woman sitting motionless, her head tilted to one side.
The woman is wearing dark glasses, so it can’t be determined if her eyes are open. Her left hand appears to be hooked over the bottom of the steering wheel.
The couple in the other car said they stayed with the Tesla for 15 minutes, honking to try to get the driver’s attention, and then they called 911. The California Highway Patrol said the Tesla driver was awake when an officer caught up to her.
