Group C at the 2022 FIFA World Cup will likely be dominated by the story of Lionel Messi and Argentina, but rivals Mexico and Poland will both fancy their chances of reaching the last 16.
Messi’s potential date with destiny is one of the big 2022 World Cup narratives, and La Albiceleste are strongly tipped to top Group C
However, Mexico’s record of seven successive World Cup knockout stages reached is an impressive statistic — even though there is talk back home of the ‘curse’ that has stopped them from making the next step and going deep into the latter stages of the tournament.
They are up against another mega star outside of Messi in their opening match, in the shape of Poland captain Robert Lewandowski
This match is one of the best of the day and The Sporting News brings you all the details you need to watch it on TV in the USA.
