Alabama has been a College Football Playoff mainstay in the history of the new format. The Crimson Tide have only missed the CFP once, coming back in 2019-20, when they lost twice during the regular season to LSU and Auburn before going to the Citrus Bowl to face Michigan.
Now, the Crimson Tide will miss the final four for the second time. Alabama took losses to Tennessee and LSU, keeping the Crimson Tide out of the SEC Championship and handing it the team’s first two-loss regular season since that 2019 campaign.
But just because Alabama won’t be playing for a national championship doesn’t mean the campaign is over. The Crimson Tide still have a New Year’s 6 bowl game ahead that brings along with it plenty of prestige.
