Standing in Sebastian Fundora’s way to becoming the regular WBC super-welterweight champion is Carlos Ocampo. Fedora will face off against Ocampo inside the Home Depot Center in Carson, California on October 8. The interim WBC title is on the line.
Fundora made his pro debut in 2016. After fighting Jamontay Clark to a draw in 2019, Fundora has won six in a row. “The Towering Inferno” beat Erickson Lubin in his last fight in April to win the interim WBC super-welterweight title.
Ocampo is a two-time silver medalist in the Mexican National Olympiads. He made his pro debut in 2012. In 2018 Ocampo unsuccessfully challenged Errol Spence Jr. for the IBF welterweight title, losing via knockout. Since then, he has won 12 in a row. Ocampo’s last fight was a knockout win over Vicente Martin Rodriguez in June.
