New year, new graphics card. Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4070 Ti is slated to go on sale on Thursday, Jan 5. But you’ll probably have to get up early to have a chance of buying one.
At $799, the new product is the most affordable entry in Nvidia’s RTX 4000 desktop series thus far. But in some bad news, the company isn’t releasing a Founders Edition model. So we’ll only get RTX 4070 Ti versions from third-party partners, such as Asus, MSI, and Zotac.
The graphics card can also cost more—from $899 to $1,049, depending on the model. Hence, we’re expecting the $799 models to sell out first during tomorrow’s launch.
So far, Nvidia hasn’t officially said what time the sales will begin. But prepare to load up your online store of choice at 9 a.m. EST/6 a.m. PST. That’s when first-day sales for Nvidia’s RTX 4080 and 4090 kicked off at retailers including Best Buy and Newegg.
Below is a list of retail links for the graphics card that should go live tomorrow. However, we recommend you also follow GPU tracker Falcodrin on Twitter(Opens in a new window) or Discord(Opens in a new window) as the launch time approaches. Falcodrin has been particularly savvy at posting active links to obtain Nvidia graphics cards from retailers such as Amazon. This included circulating a link that made it a breeze to buy the Founders Edition RTX 4090 during last October’s launch—but only for users who were quick enough to see the link.
Whether you should buy the card is another matter. The RTX 4070 Ti is a rebrand of the canceled RTX 4080 12GB graphics card that was originally supposed to launch in November. This launch revives that card, for $100 less. Still, our review shows that while the RTX 4070 Ti can offer some strong performance, it doesn’t always outperform the older RTX 3080.
